New Nubia Flip 5G is a mid-range foldable going on sale globally at just $499
Nubia unveiled its foldable, the Nubia Flip 5G, back in February at MWC. The foldable, one of the few mid-range ones on the market, now looks ready to go on sale globally, with the company finally announcing availability at the launch event days ago.
The Nubia Flip 5G sports a 6.9-inch 120 Hz AMOLED main screen and a 1.43-inch outer OLED. A 50 MP and 2 MP camera sit out back, with a 16 MP selfie shooter in front. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, admittedly outdated at this point, and up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. A 4310 mAh battery supplies power, with charging pegged at 33 W.
The Nubia Flip 5G makes no pretenses as to having premium pedigree and is priced accordingly, with the 8/256 GB model carrying a US$499 MSRP. For some reason, however, the 12/512 GB variant is priced at a hefty US$699. The cheaper SKU will likely be the one to get, especially as the far superior Galaxy Z Flip5 has gone on sale for an extra US$100 at US$799 in the past.
According to Nubia's website, the Nubia Flip 5G will be available in most major markets including the US, UK, EU, and most of the Middle East. A 12-month warranty period is promised, with shipping set to begin on April 23.
