Edifier Comfo Run: New wireless headphones promise good sound and fit thanks to large drivers, available on Amazon
Edifier has been offering new headphones, the Comfo Run, for some time now. The manufacturer is primarily targeting athletes with this product. These are not in-ear headphones, but more or less a headset. The Comfo Run fit completely around the head. In the best-case scenario, the headphones hold in multiple places to avoid relying solely on the fit in the ear canal.
Accordingly, it is also an open-ear headphones. This means that bystanders can hear phone calls or the music being played to a greater or lesser extent, and vice versa. Unsurprisingly, as there is no effective, passive damping of potentially disturbing ambient noise, there is also no active noise cancelation.
Edifier uses 16.2-millimeter drivers. These promise a powerful sound, including bass. According to the manufacturer, frequencies between 20 Hz and 20 kHz can be reproduced, and an output of up to 90 dB is supported. Audio content is transmitted via Bluetooth 5.3 and A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, SBC, and AAC codecs. The audio playback can still be adjusted - within limits - to your own preferences using a corresponding app.
The battery life is estimated at up to 17 hours, and a 15-minute charge should provide an additional 5 hours of playback. Microphones and controls are also on board. The IP55-certified headphones are currently available on Amazon for 75 euros.
