SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro flagship headphones launch as White Edition with replaceable batteries
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro were announced in 2022, but were only available in black. This is now changing, as SteelSeries has introduced a white model, which, in addition to the color, also has a smaller ANC microphone that protrudes less from the housing in order to improve wearing comfort.
Nothing has changed in terms of features; SteelSeries still supplies two replaceable rechargeable batteries, both of which are said to achieve a runtime of 22 hours and can be replaced in seconds. The second battery can be charged in the USB base station. The transmitter also offers a volume control knob and a display that is used to adjust the equalizer and chat volume, among other things.
Thanks to two USB-C ports, the base station can be connected to a PC and an Xbox or PS5 simultaneously, allowing users to switch between the two devices at the touch of a button. While the USB transmitter promises extremely low latency, the Arctis Nova Pro can be connected to a smartphone at the same time thanks to Bluetooth 5.0, either to use an external voice chat app or the headphones on the go.
The 40 mm drivers are said to have a frequency response of 10 Hz to 40 kHz, while a total of four microphones ensure active noise cancellation (ANC). A fully retractable boom microphone promises better voice quality in chats. The corresponding desktop app allows gaming sound to be adjusted with particular precision, such as amplifying footsteps or reloading noises.
Price and availability
The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless Gaming Headset in white is now available from the manufacturer's online store for $249.99, either as an Xbox or PlayStation variant, whereby both versions can also be used with a PC. By comparison, the black version is currently available on Amazon for around $289.
