New Sony over-ear wireless headphones coming as company reveals official release date
Sony has revealed its intentions to host a new hardware launch event. To recap, there have been plenty of rumours about the Xperia 1 VI and other Xperia-branded smartphones of late, including the smaller Xperia 5 VI and non-flagship Xperia 10 VI. However, Sony's teasers imply that it will focus on expanding its audio division.
For one, the company will host a live stream on its Sony Global YouTube channel, rather than the Xperia equivalent it used when debuting the Xperia 5 V last year. Additionally, Sony's hashtags include #ULTIMATEvibe #ForTheMusic, with the latter being a particularly obvious nod to the fact that it will be focusing on introducing something audio-related rather than a new smartphone. Likewise, Sony's repeated mention of the phrase 'Ultimate' tallies with an earlier WH-ULT900N leak, which is expected to arrive sporting 'Ultra Power Sound'.
With that being said, Sony's teaser suggests that it release multiple new products, not just a new pair of headphones. At any rate, numerous specifications relating to the WH-ULT900N have already surfaced online, as have three product images that we have embedded below. Please see our earlier article for more details about the WH-ULT900N, which is anticipated to replace the WH-XB910N (curr. $148 on Amazon). Sony's 'Enjoy the ULTIMATE Vibe' event will commence at 16:00 UTC on April 11.
