Sony WH-ULT900N: New Sony over-ear wireless headphones released as Sony ULT Wear with high-end hardware for mid-range price tag

Sony has now released the successor to the WH-XB910N (curr. $148 on Amazon), the launch of which it teased earlier this week. For context, while the company remained quiet about its new headphones, various leakers revealed them as the WH-ULT900N a few weeks ago. While these leakers were correct in the headphones' model number, Sony does not market them as such.

Instead, Sony is selling the WH-ULT900N with the product name 'ULT WEAR', which is available in Black, Forest Green and Off-White colours. According to the company's press release, the ULT WEAR is the start of the new ULT series, which focuses on providing a strong bass response. Specifically, the ULT WEAR delivers a 5 Hz-20 kHz frequency response with its 40 mm neodymium drivers, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 and Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity.

Moreover, the ULT WEAR integrates a transparency mode, LDAC support and a capacitive sensor that can detect when you are wearing the headphones. On top of that, Sony has included its Integrated Processor V1 chipset, plus Precise Voice Pickup Technology and Hey Google/Alexa voice control support. Unsurprisingly, the ULT Wear also offers active noise cancellation (ANC), gesture controls and works with the Sony Headphones Connect app. Sony has priced the ULT Wear at €199 in the Eurozone and $199.99 in the US.
