Nubia launched the Nubia Flip globally last year as one of the few clamshell-type foldables on the market, and flat-out the first affordable foldable smartphone. It appears the Nubia Flip sold decently well, with the company now set to launch the Nubia Flip 2 globally.
To be exact, the Nubia Flip 2 already debuted in Japan last month, but is now set to launch on the global market. The foldable features a 6.9-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED internal screen, a 3-inch outer display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X, 128 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM, and a 4300 mAh. Like its predecessor, the Flip 2 sports a 50 MP + 2 MP rear camera setup, with a 32 MP selfie snapper in front. As mid-range as it gets but should scratch the itches of those seeking a foldable phone at a reasonable price point.
Speaking of price points, the Nubia Flip 2 was released in Japan with an MSRP of JPY 64,080. That converts into about $430 right now. The first-gen Nubia Flip was priced at $499, so it's likely the Flip 2 will retain that price tag on the global market. Finally, the Nubia Flip 2 is expected to be joined at the same event by the Nubia Focus 2 and Focus 2 Ultra, both of which are budget devices.
