Nubia Z60 Ultra Photographer Edition released as custom Android smartphone with top-end specs for mid-range price
Now that Nubia has graced its RedMagic spin-off with its limited-edition flagship smartphone for 2024, it has done the same for its other line of top-end mobile devices. The Z60 Ultra Photographer Edition has the same specs as a top-end Standard counterpart, yet is the only variant with black vegan leather as a contrast to the 'retro-inspired' camera hump on its rear panel
Its glass surround also sports custom "Photographer Edition" engraving in this iteration. It houses the same "Triple OIS" cameras touted by Nubia to cover the complete gamut of focal lengths absent in other flagship smartphones (18mm for the 50MP telephoto lens; 35mm for the 50MP main camera and 85mm for the 64MP periscope zoom lens).
Then again, the new Photographer Edition is the only Z60 Ultra variant to be hyped as an AI smartphone, supporting features such as generative imaging and real-time translations both in person and in-call.
Its promos also highlight the 6.8-inch OLED display that, as with the RedMagic 9 Pro series, drops an obtrusive punch-hole for a 5th-gen selfie camera hidden under said screen.
However, unlike the Bumblebee-themed 9 Pro+, the Z60 Ultra Photographer Edition has a decent chance of going global following its Chinese release.
It has done so with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage for just 4,299 yuan (~$595) - admittedly less than its Standard global counterpart at $779, although it is discounted to $749 until April 1, 2024 with the code EASTER30 on intl.nubia.com.
