Nubia Z80 Ultra special edition to come with custom telephoto lens and huge battery

The Xiaomi 16 series is slated to lead the charge of world-first Snapdragon 8 Elite 2-powered Android smartphones soon - perhaps even sooner than previously thought.

Other OEMs are supposedly poised to hit back with devices based on the same new flagship Qualcomm processor soon thereafter, Nubia included.

The brand that can be credited with starting the 35mm lens trend among high-end smartphones is also thought to integrate a periscope zoom in its impending challenger for the 8 Elite 2 crown.

The ZTE subsidiary might reserve the best of those cameras for its next Photographer Edition. The apparent Z70S Ultra successor might have other specs in common with the standard version of the Z80 Ultra, though.

They are thought to include a vastly upgraded battery of ~7,000mAh in capacity, not to mention what could launch as Nubia's 8th-gen UDC display. 

The panel might be 1.5K in resolution, yet is likely to be one of very few with the ability to hide the selfie camera when not in use for an extra-high-end edge-to-edge look, even in late 2025.
