The Nubia Z70 Ultra was launched in November 2024 as a flagship smartphone. The key highlight of the Z70 Ultra was its under-display selfie camera. A new leak has surfaced online, revealing key information regarding the potential successor to the Z70 Ultra.
The details were leaked by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. While the leak doesn’t confirm the name, the device is likely to be called the Z80 Ultra. According to the tipster, Nubia’s upcoming flagship phone will retain the under-display selfie camera. The display is said to have a resolution of 1.5K. Additionally, the rear camera setup may include a 50MP primary sensor and a periscope telephoto lens.
The phone will utilize a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of around 7,100mAh. For context, the Nubia Z70 Ultra featured a 6,150mAh battery.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra is also tipped to utilize Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The chipset is expected to be announced in September. A previous leak suggested that the Elite 2 will aim to score around 3.8 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. For comparison, the Z70 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite scored around 2.5 million points in our review.
For now, all the above information regarding the alleged Z80 Ultra is based on a leak. Hence, it must be taken with a pinch of salt until confirmation from the company. Like the Z70 Ultra, the successor is expected to debut in November.
