A previous leak suggested that OnePlus is working on a compact gaming tablet. While the processor details were previously unknown, a new leak now claims the device will be powered by a Qualcomm chipset.
Tipster Smart Pikachu on Weibo suggests that OnePlus will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for its upcoming gaming tablet. The chipset is expected to be announced in late September. However, leaks have pointed to a major performance boost over its predecessor. It is expected to score over 4 million points on AnTuTu. For comparison, the RedMagic Astra, which topped AnTuTu’s latest tablet performance chart, scored around 2.8 million points.
The previous leak revealed that the gaming tablet will feature a display size of around 8 inches. It will have a 3K resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
The leak also suggests that the company is developing a second tablet with the same flagship chip. However, no further details regarding the tablet were shared by the tipster.
The company’s current flagship tablet is the OnePlus Pad 3 (curr. $699 on Amazon). For context, the Pad 3 launched globally in June with a 13.2-inch IPS LCD panel, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and a 12,140mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging.
Do note that OnePlus has not officially confirmed details of its upcoming tablets. Therefore, the leaked information should be treated with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made.
