Another day, another Galaxy S26 leak. Serial leaker UniverseIce has now alleged that Qualcomm’s next-gen flagship SoC for smartphones, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, will power the Galaxy S26 series.
More precisely, the leaker claims on X that the Galaxy S26 series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy using TSMC technology. The term “with TSMC” technology is quite interesting here, as we’ve heard rumors alleging that Qualcomm is also using the Samsung SF2 node for a variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. This variant is said to cost less than the one fabbed by TSMC, possibly using the TSMC N3P 3 nm process node.
Qualcomm employing both the Samsung SF2 and the TSMC N3P node could result in two classes of Android smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. One segment could see relatively affordable “flagships killers”, especially from Chinese brands like Oppo and Xiaomi, use the cheaper Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The other segment could have true flagship phones like the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 fabbed on the TSMC node.
UniverseIce also alleges that the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy inside the Galaxy S26 series phones will run at up to 4.74 GHz. Compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, this is a 6% increase in boost clock. This should noticeably impact the single-core performance of the SoC.
Finally, while UniverseIce does mention the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for every Galaxy S26 device, it won’t be surprising if Samsung decides to use the Exynos 2600 in some regions. The Exynos 2600 is reportedly using the Samsung SF2 2 nm process node and is performing nicely in its pre-release state.
