Serial smartphone torturer Zack Nelson, known widely by his YouTube handle “JerryRigEverything”, has a pretty colorful X account where the techie doesn't shy away from potentially divisive opinions and firing shots. This time around, Zack has grilled Samsung, calling his interaction with a Samsung Mobile US rep “dehumanizing”.
The tech reviewer claims that, following the chat, he is finally going to switch to a non-Samsung phone after ten years of daily driving a Galaxy. One user tried to reason with Zack, adding that a bad interaction with one employee at a certain branch doesn’t make the product bad. However, Zack explains that he is “not into that kinda thing” and that it is “time to try out a new brand”. While we don’t know the details of the interaction that prompted this harsh reaction from Zack, it does shine a light on Samsung’s customer service in the US, as Zack isn’t the first person to complain about the issue.
Samsung US’s customer service has a pretty terrible reputation if user reviews on subreddits like r/Samsung are anything to go by. For instance, multiple posts in r/Samsung, both old and new, have lamented Samsung’s customer service in the US. One post called it “truly the worst,” while another termed it “a nightmare to deal with”. A post from almost two weeks ago ranted about the sorry state of Samsung’s support, as the user was unable to cancel their Galaxy Z Flip 7 order despite explicitly doing so.
So, while JerryRigEverything’s remarks on X might come across as entitled to some, Samsung’s customer service in the US reportedly has a pretty bad reputation.
Finally, we’ve a hunch that the story with Zack and Samsung is not over. We’ll keep you posted if any new developments occur.
