Qualcomm is projected to follow its ground-breaking Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with a second-gen version with the potential for even better performance.
The "8 Elite 2" is backed to hit new AnTuTu Benchmark highs with scores of about 3.8 million, as opposed to ~3 million for its predecessor, thanks to dual prime custom Oryon cores.
Each one is now predicted to be clocked at a new all-time high of 4.8GHz, as opposed to 4.32GHz at most in the original 8 Elite: a speed boost of about 11%, if so.
Then again, it is possible that this new leak might pertain to a "pro" edition of the Elite 2, which has a precedent in the freshly-released Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition, also known as the 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC found in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra since early 2025.
Its top clock comes in at 4.47GHz, which would cut the gains made by the alleged 8 Elite 2 down to about 7%.
Nevertheless, the "Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy" could be the world's most powerful chipset for mobile devices on its launch - unless the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 can possibly do better by the end of 2025.
