MWC 2024 | Nubia Pad 3D II announced with improved 3D display and eye tracking
ZTE has previewed a second-generation Nubia Pad 3D, almost a year after opening pre-orders for its inaugural model. While the design of the Nubia Pad 3D II remains unchanged from its predecessor, ZTE has made various hardware upgrades. For one, the company has switched the Snapdragon 888 in the Nubia Pad 3D for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which should deliver approximately a 1.37x performance improvement in the process.
Additionally, the adoption of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has brought 5G connectivity that the original model lacked. Moreover, the Nubia Pad 3D II has a 10,000 mAh battery that recharges at 66 W, compared to the 9,700 mAh battery and 33 W in its predecessor. Meanwhile, although the rear cameras drop from 16 MP to 13 MP each, they gain panorama and HDR 3D support. Incidentally, the new Nubia Pad 3D also features improved eye-tracking, albeit still with a pair of 8 MP front-facing cameras.
Arguably, the biggest change between the Nubia Pad 3D and Nubia Pad 3D II lies in their displays. According to ZTE, the latter utilises a 12.1-inch and 2,560 x 1,600-pixel panel, 0.3-inches smaller than the former. However, the smaller panel has a faster refresh rate (144 Hz vs. 120 Hz) and can show 3D content twice as brightly while offering an 80% resolution increase. Unfortunately, ZTE has not shared any release details yet, although more hardware information can be found on ZTE's website.
