Dinosaurs and robots: Steam Festival brings big discounts and free rewards
The Festival of Dinosaurs and Robots runs on Steam from February 26 to March 4. It's all about dinosaurs and robots - or robot dinosaurs. Dino robots are of course also allowed. There are currently discounts of 20 to 90 percent on various games that have something to do with this. We have compiled our highlights from the two categories below.
Our robot highlights
- Horizon Zero Dawn - 75 percent discount (12.50 instead of 50 euros): An action role-playing game in which players take on the role of Aloy - a huntress who has to assert herself in a post-apocalyptic world full of giant robots. Aloy searches for her origins and uncovers the secrets of her world in the process. The game offers a mixture of action, exploration and role-playing elements.
- Detroit Become Human - 60 percent discount (16 instead of 40 euros): An interactive drama action-adventure game set in a futuristic version of Detroit where humans live with advanced robots. Players control three different androids - Connor, Markus and Kara. They make decisions that influence the course of the story and the fate of the characters.
- Terminator Resistance - 65 percent discount (14 instead of 40 euros): A first-person shooter set in the dystopian future of the Terminator universe. Players take control of resistance fighter Jacob Rivers and fight against the artificial intelligence Skynet and its Terminators.
Our dino highlights
- Jurrassic World Evolution 2 - 70 percent discount (18 instead of 60 euros): A dinosaur park simulation in which players build and manage their own Jurassic Park. As park operators, they can design enclosures, breed dinosaurs and overcome internal park challenges. Unlike its predecessor, wild dinosaurs can also be tamed.
- The Isle - 33 percent discount (13 instead of 20 euros): An online survival game in which players take on the role off one of many different dinosaurs - from small predators to gigantic herbivores. The main objective of the game is to survive by finding food, protecting yourself from predatory dinosaurs and interacting with other players, who can be either allies or enemies.
- ARK: Survival Ascended - 20 percent discount (36 instead of 45 euros): Another online survival game, but played from the perspective of a human rather than a dinosaur - in an open world populated by a variety of prehistoric and mythological creatures. The only goal of the game is to survive. To do so, players must search for food and water, build shelters and defend themselves against hostile players and aggressive creatures.

As a child in the 90s, my Gameboy was my steady companion. After school, the PlayStation was fired up. When I finally got my first PC, I was completely hooked. My passion for gaming has never waned since. For me, writing for Notebookcheck means reporting on topics that are really close to my heart - in addition to gaming, I also like to write about e-mobility, photovoltaics and innovative gadgets. When I'm not sitting at my computer, I'm probably on water rescue duty on the Baltic coast or trying to counteract the downsides of my geek life - namely sitting for long periods - at the local swimming pool.
