11 years of Warframe: space ninjas get special login rewards, in-game gear via special events in March Online free-to-play, third-person shooter MMO is celebrating its 11-year anniversary. To mark the occasion, Warframe players can collect a new weapon as a login reward, and there will be special mission rewards and Twitch drops throughout the month of March.

Having launched in March of 2013, Warframe officially kicks off its 11-year anniversary celebrations on March 1. Developer Digital Extremes has announced that the free-to-play third-person-shooter MMO will celebrate the occasion with special gifts for players throughout the month of March.

The first surprise for Warframe's crew of space ninjas is the Dex Nikana — a special, anniversary-edition katana which will be added to player inventories as a log-in reward. Along with the anniversary-edition katana, Digital Extremes will be giving away a number of in-game Glyphs by community artist DarikaArt during Warframe Community Twitch streams when watching with a linked Twitch account.

There will also be special in-game alerts throughout the month that will grant players access to special items and previous anniversary gifts. For infrequent players, Warframe's anniversary events are a good time to log a few hours in the game, since the special resources dropped during these in-game alerts can help accelerate item crafting and in-game progression.

Digital Extremes also announced that its 56th warframe, Dante, will be joining the ever-expanding roster in March and that a game mainstay, Inaros would be getting a rework, which you can find out more about by watching Warframe Devstream 177 below.

If you're looking to take Warframe on the go, check out the Lenovo Legion Go (curr. $649.99 from Lenovo US), Asus ROG Ally (curr. $699.99 at Best Buy), or even the Nintendo Switch OLED (curr. $399 at Amazon).
