Samsung seems to think fans of foldable clamshell smartphones have no real need for a truly usable external display, even if they still cost $845 on Amazon today (May 21, 2024); however, other OEMs disagree. They include OPPO, Motorola - and Honor, according to legendary leaker Digital Chat Station.
The tipster now asserts that the company will aim to release the biggest cover screen of 2024 in the supposedly upcoming Magic V Flip. It is thought to encompass the whole of its half of the device's rear panel, as with the latest alleged exponents of the Razr series, to the extent that it, too, will wrap around its main camera hump.
It will come in the form of just 1 circle as opposed to 2 in Motorola's design, and might thus indeed give the first-gen Honor clamshell a little more screen real estate overall. The "Magic V Flip" is thought to launch in June 2024, ahead of its book-style counterpart the Magic V3.
Otherwise, it is also tipped to launch as a "fast" ("very fast", in fact) foldable smartphone with a potentially generous (and, again, Galaxy Z Flip5-beating) 4,500mAh battery.
