Honor applies to trademark what might be its first-gen foldable and much more in China
The electronics OEM Honor has already confirmed a successor to the Magic 2 smartphone that will run on the top-end Snapdragon 888 processor, thereby also affirming that this series was due to bounce back following the company's split from Huawei. Now, there is evidence that the OEM has big ambitions for the sub-brand, with the addition of new and occasionally cutting-edge products all using the same name.
According to new trademarking applications submitted to the Chinese intellectual property office CNIPA throughout June 2021, they include the Honor Magic Fold, Flip and Flex, names that might hint at this company's answer to the similarly-titled Samsung flagships, not to mention a device that, from the sound of it, might turn out similar to the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha.
The pending trademarks also extend to what might be next-gen Honor MagicBooks, in X and more novel V variants. The Magic W, X and Z (potential upcoming smartphones?) are also hinted at in this new leak, as is a Magic Pad (a future tablet, perhaps?).
Furthermore, Honor has indicated that it is getting truly serious about an ecosystem for these putative devices - or will do so, rather, once the Magic Router, Pen and Earbuds trademarks are approved.
These accessories might also be joined by new and more mysterious products called the Wing and Master, not to mention the new Magic Drop, Tap and Share (which most likely relate to an expansion of software or service components from Honor).
On the other hand, these new terms are yet to be accepted as trademarks by CNIPA, meaning that they may all be still some way away from a launch - presuming Honor ends up using them all, of course.
