Honor MagicBook 14 2022: Intel Alder Lake refresh announced with NVIDIA GeForce GPUs
Honor has introduced a 2022 refresh of the MagicBook 14, referred to by the company as the MagicBook 14 2022. While Honor lists two MagicBook 14 2022 models on its website, only one edition exists. However, Honor offers the laptop with and without a dedicated GPU. Specifically, the MagicBook 14 2022 comes with integrated Iris Xe graphics or a choice between NVIDIA's GeForce MX550 and GeForce RTX 2050.
Additionally, the laptop can be configured with a Core i5-12500H or a Core i7-12650H. Both Alder Lake-P processors, the Core i5-12500H has 4 P-cores and 8 E cores, plus 16 threads. In comparison, the Core i7-12650H has 6 P-cores and 4 E cores, totalling 16 threads as well. For some reason, the MagicBook 14 2022 is only available with a dedicated GPU if you also choose the Core i5-12500H.
Elsewhere, the MagicBook 14 2022 has a 14-inch and 3:2 display that outputs at 2,160 x 1,440 pixels. According to Honor, the IPS panel should reach 300 nits and has a 1,500-nit peak brightness, along with 100% sRGB colour space coverage. Moreover, Honor includes a 75 Wh battery that the machine can recharge in approximately 80 minutes at 100 W. Incidentally, the MagicBook 14 2022 has a single USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connections, a full-sized HDMI 2.0 port and a 3.5 mm jack.
For reference, Honor sells the MagicBook 14 2022 in four configurations, starting with a Core i5-12500H, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. An international launch remains unknown at this stage, but the MagicBook 14 2022 will be available in China for the following prices, all with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.
