Rumor | Honor will launch a new flagship with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and everything else besides
Honor has just launched the flagship-grade Magic4 series, and the premium mid-range 70 series on top of that. However, now that the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 (or 8+ Gen 1) SoC is out there, it is expected to join the ever-growing list of Android OEMs gearing up to debut mid-year replacements for their newest top-end devices.
The apparently knowledgeable tipster The Factory Manager's Classmate asserts that Honor's upcoming take on this stage of the product cycle will focus "on high-end images" (according to the post's Google translation, at least). It will apparently arrive as a whole series of smartphones, in fact, suggesting that the whole Magic4 line is possibly due an overhaul - the Ultimate Edition included, maybe.
However, the leaker then goes and contradicts themselves somewhat by claiming that these upcoming phones will also "balance" this emphasis on cameras with equal attention on the rest of their specs - in fact, they "basically have everything".
Accordingly, as this new leak intimates, Honor may now aim for super-flagship status in at least 1 of these new smartphones, thereby rivaling Xiaomi with its upcoming 12S series, not to mention Huawei with what that formerly leading OEM once aimed for with the Mate phablet line. These new potential Magic-alternatives are now projected to be here by the end of August 2022.
