Android OEMs have already confirmed their intention to equip upcoming flagship smartphones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. Not only has OnePlus confirmed a launch window for the rumoured OnePlus 10 Ultra, benchmark data for the unreleased Realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition has leaked.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus has just arrived, which we covered in-depth in our dedicated launch article. As expected, numerous Android OEMs plan to use Qualcomm's new flagship chipset over the next few months. While OEMs have not revealed their release schedules yet, OnePlus aims to have its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus-powered smartphone ready in Q3 2022. Purportedly, the smartphone in question will be the OnePlus 10 Ultra.

Moreover, iQOO, Motorola, Realme and Xiaomi have announced that they will also the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus for its next flagship smartphones. Although iQOO, Motorola and Xiaomi have not detailed which of its smartphones will rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, the iQOO 10 Pro, Motorola Frontier and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra are all believed to utilise Qualcomm's new chipset.

However, Realme has already teased that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will power the GT2 Master Explorer Edition. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen what the GT2 Master Explorer Edition looks like. In the meantime, Digital Chat Station has shared a screenshot of an AnTuTu result using the GT2 Master Explorer Edition. As the screenshot below shows, the GT2 Master Explorer Edition scored 1,059,554 overall, plus 269,475 and 437,498 in the CPU and GPU benchmarks, respectively.

For reference, the RedMagic 7 managed a better overall score, albeit with a 12% lower CPU score. Generally though, the scores shown below comfortably eclipse those of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000-powered smartphones. Unsurprisingly, the same applies to the Galaxy S22 series with Exynos 2200 chipsets. Please see our launch article for more details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus and benchmark results.
