Hitman 3 is set to receive its DLSS and ray-tracing update shortly. The free update will add ray-traced shadows and reflections to the game, alongside DLSS 2.0 and FSR 1.0 upscaling. AMD's new FSR 2.0 won't be part of the package, at least initially.

IO Interactive recently announced that Hitman 3 on PC will receive a ray-tracing update on May 24th. The developer has yet to  offer a timeframe for a console ray-tracing update, however.

Hitman 3's new update will let PC gamers enable ray-traced reflections and shadows. The reflections, in particular, should offer a noticeable fidelity boost in some of the game's interiors and urban environments. Unsurprisingly, ray tracing comes with a steep performance penalty. IO's minimum ray-tracing spec, at 1080p with DLSS Performance mode, demands a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER, while the recommended spec requires a GeForce RTX 3070 or RX 6900 XT for 1440p. Moreover, while AMD recently launched its temporal FSR 2.0 upscaling tech, Hitman 3 will ship with older FSR 1.0.

While console gamers were promised ray tracing in Hitman 3, there's no word yet from IO as to when this will happen. In the meantime, PC players with the Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 DLCs enabled will be able to enjoy the entire trilogy with RT features enabled.
