OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro receive new features with their latest software updates
OnePlus has released C.60 for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, building on the pair's earlier C.47 and C.48 builds. Incidentally, the new build arrives shortly after the introduction of the Nord 2T, plus the European release of the Nord CE 2 Lite. Also, OnePlus introduced the Ace Racing Edition last week too, which appears to be a Chinese-exclusive.
According to OnePlus' changelog, the OxygenOS 12 C.60 update is approximately a 1.5 GB download. Unsurprisingly, OnePlus has included a few new features for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro, even if it keeps the pair on outdated security patches. For some reason, OnePlus has elected against bundling the May 2022 set of security patches in OxygenOS 12 C.60.
Still, the OxygenOS 12 C.60 update allows you to open up to three apps in floating windows simultaneously. Similarly, you should be able to switch between floating window and split-screen modes with ease. Moreover, OnePlus has added the default Clock app in Quick Return and the option of opening up to three phone windows on your PC. Separately, OxygenOS 12 C.60 adds HyperBoost, an end-to-end frame rate stabiliser, and heterogeneous graphics. Supposedly, the latter reduces game loading times and power consumption, but only for some titles.
The OxygenOS 12 C.60 update is rolling out now as an over-the-air (OTA) download. Typically, OnePlus issues new updates in batches. Hence, please note that it could take a few days or weeks for the update to reach your OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro.
