Rumor | iQOO 11 series tipped to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC by the end of 2022
The iQOO 10 Pro is a premium-grade smartphone that was able to add the newly upgraded spec of 200W wired charging to its brand's habitual barrage of top-end hardware on its debut. Now, its 11-series successor is expected to bring more of the same.
Not only is the "11 Pro" tipped to augment its 6.78-inch 2K screen with next-gen Samsung E6 display tech, it is now backed to become a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered flagship Android smartphone as soon as possible following the same SoC's mid-November 2022 debut.
It might thus launch in its native China as usual to start off with, and may, according to the typically knowledgeable leaker Abhishek Yadav, follow this event up with a surprisingly early premiere in a market where iQOO could be said to have its next biggest presence: India.
Therefore, the iQOO 11 and 11 Pro could be official in either location by December 2022. Another tipster, Yogesh Brar, now purports to flesh the latter's specs out with allusions to 8 or 12GB of RAM with up to 512GB of internal storage.
The putative flagship might have dual 50MP rear cameras with an additional telephoto lens of a slightly unusual 14.6MP resolution, along with a slightly less than generous 4,700mAh battery - although it will still charge at the new top rate of 200W with 50W wireless charging on top of that.
The 11 series might also upgrade to the latest OriginOS software based on Android 13 from iQOO's parent company Vivo, which may also donate its impressive-sounding putative rear camera upgrades that may or may not be enhanced by an in-house ISP chip.
As for the vanilla 11, it has been linked to an even higher-end 144Hz refresh rate for its own flat 2K E6 screen, which might go nicely to an upgrade to 16GB RAM SKUs and UFS 4.0 storage, which might compensate for slower 100W wired charging. Then again, this Digital Chat Station tip has been subject to one of the well-regarded tipster's rare retractions shortly after its appearance on Weibo.
