iQOO rebrands the Neo6 SE as the Neo6 5G for the international market
iQOO's latest phone for the Indian market has launched as the Neo6, which might inspire expectations of flagship-quality specs in some tech fans as a result of following the OEM's previous launch in China. However, on going through the new regional variant's spec-sheet, it is apparent the two are different phones.
In fact, the "Neo6 5G" that has just debuted has the same specs as the original smartphone's SE version, which has the Snapdragon 870 SoC. iQOO emphasizes that it still has the Neo series' latest Cascade cooling system for this platform, along with its dual stereo speakers and X-axis linear haptics.
Then again, the India-specific Neo6 still offers top-speed 80W FlashCharge. Now that it is an international device, it ships with Funtouch OS based on Android 12 rather than the equally up-to-date OriginOS of Chinese-market units.
The Neo6 5G has even made it to the international market with 2 of its original purple/blue and oil-slick gradient colorways, although they have been rebranded to Dark Nova and Cyber Rage.
They start at INR 29,999 (~US$385) for an 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage SKU - which means it stands ready to undercut others with similar specs, particularly its charging speed. Then again, it should be noted that NFC is not mentioned on its new page on iQOO's Indian site.
