iQOO gears up to make the Neo6 SE the world's second Snapdragon 870-powered/80W-charging smartphone
iQOO has released its Neo6 flagship for 2022; now, it has announced that it will debut an SE version of the same to go with it. According to various images associated with this phone, it has more or less the same look as its pre-existing sibling, although it may come in a new, bluish-green colorway that could also have gone with the more premium device.
Similarly, iQOO has indicated that it will have the same up-to-date 80W charging speed, and possibly even the exact same front panel, as the Neo6. However, the SE is said to differ in terms of its SoC. It is linked to the sub-flagship (and 2021) Snapdragon 870 processor.
Otherwise, iQOO has also now hinted that it might get a 64MP main rear camera with OIS. This, again, might mean it has additional camera specs in common with the Neo6 - or the Realme Q5 Pro, rather, according to the leaker WHYLAB.
The tipster intimates that iQOO is in fact coming for the Q5 Pro directly with the SE, and suggests that the latter might gain the edge as it has the full gamut of NFC functions the new Realme phone apparently lacks. Therefore, it may be very interesting to see how the Neo6 SE is priced on its May 6, 2022 launch.
WHYLAB seems to think it will start at 1,799 yuan (~US$272), which would indeed undercut Realme on the Chinese market. On the other hand, the Q5 Pro (or its rebrand) is the more likely of the 2 to make it outside of this country in 2022.
