Snapdragon processors have completely dominated the January Android flagship smartphone performance chart from AnTuTu. The newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 occupies the top seven positions while the lower three are taken up with phones featuring the Snapdragon 888 Plus. It’s a very positive result for Qualcomm, which has been facing increasing competition from rivals such as MediaTek, Samsung, and Huawei.
The smartphone in top position is the iQOO 9 Pro, with the non-Pro model sitting in runner-up position. Along with the Realme GT2 Pro, the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro managed to maintain average AnTuTu benchmark performance scores of over one million points. The OnePlus 10 Pro isn’t far behind, topping 993,000 points, and this is followed by the highest-performing Xiaomi phone, the 12 Pro, on 980,828 points.
The next two places are snapped up by the Motorola Moto Edge X30 and Xiaomi 12 before SD888+ devices start appearing. These come in the forms of the Black Shark 4S Pro, RedMagic 6S Pro, and the iQOO 8 Pro, to fill out the final three places in the top 10. Like any benchmark, AnTuTu faces many criticisms for its scoring and process, but it still seems to be a very good month for both Qualcomm and iQOO.
