Lenovo Legion 5 15 - Compact gaming notebook relies entirely on AMD power

Teaser
With the Lenovo Legion 5 15, we took a look at the latest gaming notebook from Lenovo. Both the CPU and the GPU come from AMD. In the review, the performance was convincing and the attractive price may play into the Lenovo Legion 5 15's favour.

With the Legion 5 15, Lenovo offers a very attractive gaming notebook that offers decent value for money. The combination of AMD Ryzen 5 5600H and AMD Radeon RX 6600M works very well. All in all, performance is sufficient to enjoy all current games in FHD.

The built-in 165 Hz display also reinforces its purpose as a gaming laptop. Moreover, the Delta E-2000 values are already very good upon delivery.

The gaming performance of the Lenovo Legion 5 15 is solid, that much can be said. On the other hand, the 6 cores of the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H cannot keep up with an 8-core. Speaking of 8-cores: If you absolutely want 8 cores, you can also purchase the Lenovo Legion 5 15 in combination with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H. For most applications, however, the 6-core is quite sufficient. The Lenovo Legion 5 15 performed very well in terms of battery life, clearly surpassing the class average. However, fan noise under load is somewhat annoying. Furthermore, the built-in SSD with only 512 GB is another small drawback. You should expect 1 TB in a gaming notebook. Fortunately, the Lenovo Legion 5 15 offers another M.2 slot to upgrade the device if needed.
