Motorola Moto G42 allegedly leaks out in terms of a second color option and more specs
Motorola has unleashed the Moto G52 and G82 on the Android smartphone market in 2022 already; now, it is said to have at least 1 new sibling for them in the works. One of these devices has allegedly popped up in a new leak.
The Moto G42 has been spotted once before in the form of renders suggesting that it is destined to reprise its OEM's Pink Clay finish on its launch. Now, according to the blog GizPaw, this option will be joined by a dark, possibly Electric, blue alternative. This colorway is applied to the same form-factor as in the previous leak.
Then again, this one contains a superimposed graphic that might indicate a power-button-integrated fingerprint sensor for the Moto G42 - which , as it is also now connected to an OLED display, is a litte disappointing. On that note, GizPaw also now purports to post a list of specs for the Moto G42.
They make for interesting reading - or would, rather, if they did not read as nearly identical to those of the Moto G52, albeit one with a slightly smaller 6.4-inch display. Accordingly, the G42 is also now slated as a 4G/LTE-only device thanks to a Snapdragon 680 SoC.
On the other hand, the G52 has 30W charging for its 5,000mAh battery, whereas the G42 may have to make do with a slower 18W rate. It is also now depicted as having only 1 4GB RAM/128GB internal storage SKU, while the G52 has a 6GB option in some markets.
Then again, should the G42 launch with these specs as reported, it may be one for fans of 3.5mm jacks, stereo speakers and 50MP main cameras at reasonable prices. However, Motorola has yet to give any sign that this lower-end model even exists as yet.
