HMD Global introduced two new Nokia X devices yesterday — the Nokia X10 and the Nokia X20. Both the phones sport identical specifications except the RAM and the camera department. According to HMD Global, both the Nokia X10 and Nokia X20 are 5G-compatible handsets designed with sustainability in mind. HMD is promising three years of support including OS and security updates for this duration. HMD will also include a protective case that is also environment friendly.
Nokia X10
The Nokia X10 is powered by the Snapdragon 480 SoC with Adreno 619 GPU. RAM and storage options include 4/128 GB, 6/64 GB, and 6/128 GB. A hybrid dual-SIM slot allows up to 512 GB of microSD expansion. The Nokia X10 features a a 6.67-inch FHD+ 20:9 450-nit LCD panel with 82% color gamut coverage.
The device features a quad-camera setup with Zeiss lenses comprised of a 48 MP primary, 5 MP ultra-wide, 2 MP macro, and 2 MP depth shooters. The front camera is an 8 MP sensor. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, FM Radio, and GPS/AGPS support. The device is certified for IP52 water resistance and is powered by a 4,470 mAh battery. A 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB 2.0 Type-C port complete the specifications.
The Nokia X10 will be available in Forest Green and Snow color options in June for €309. It is not confirmed whether a charger would be included with the box.
Nokia X20
The Nokia X20 sports identical specifications as the Nokia X10. However, the X20 offers a more capable camera setup with a 64 MP primary shooter, 5 MP ultra-wide, 2 MP macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor. The device also offers a 32 MP selfie camera unlike the 8 MP variant in the X10.
Unlike the X10, the X20 offers 6 GB and 8 GB RAM options combined with 128 GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 512 GB via a microSD card. However, the X20 does not seem to have the IP52 rating that the X10 has.
The Nokia X20 will be available in Midnight Sun and Nordic Blue variants and will be from May for €350. Charger will be included in select markets.
Both the Nokia X10 and Nokia X20 come with OZO Audio, a dedicated Google Assistant button, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The devices come Android Enterprise Recommended out-of-the-box.
