Motorola Edge (2022) is slated to launch soon thanks to a new specs leak
Motorola has now produced a successor for the Edge 20 smartphone ; now, it is rumored to do the same for the Edge (2021) soon. Steve Hemerstoffer - also often known as OnLeaks - has partnered with 91Mobiles to present new alleged details on this subject.
The tipsters now assert that the Edge (2022) and the mysterious Motorola device leaked earlier under the code-name dubai+ with an unnamed MediaTek Dimensity processor are one and the same. The new 91Mobiles x OnLeaks report also now specifies a 6.5-inch FHD+ display that, while pOLED, is also 144Hz and is stylus-responsive (albeit without a pen-silo), for this upcoming mobile device.
This screen may be kept on with a sizable 5,000mAh battery, although there is no mention of particularly fast charging here. The "Edge 2022" is now connected to a 50MP main shooter, a 13MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth-sensor, which, according to its new renders, are found on a rear panel not hugely unlike that of the Edge 30.
This triple-lens hump might seem like a downgrade compared to that of the 108MP Edge (2021) on paper; however, should that 50MP sensor be reasonably up-to-date, this might not be the case - especially as it is now also slated to have OIS. Finally, the "Edge (2022)" is projected to have 6 to 8GB of RAM with up to 256GB of internal storage, and to come in either dark or light blue colorways.
OnLeaks and 91Mobiles do not purport to specify pricing for this putative upcoming phone yet, although its newly possible specs (and lack of a 3.5mm port alongside its USB type-C connection) might put it in the same ~US$500 bracket as the 2021 Edge.
