US retailer has listed unreleased Mac hardware, both based on the upcoming Apple M2 chipset. While Apple may announce a new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 13 at WWDC 2022, MacRumors claims that the listings are merely guesswork.

Yesterday, B&H added two listings for new Mac mini machines to its website, prompting speculation that Apple would reveal new Mac hardware this week, presumably at WWDC 2022. Subsequently, the Apple Authorized Reseller has uploaded listings for two unreleased MacBooks, both based on Apple M2 chipsets.

As the screenshots below show, B&H listed a MacBook Air with a 14-inch display and a MacBook Pro 13, both with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. However, neither listing contains official imagery or further specifications, as is often the case with retailer leaks. For reference, Apple's WWDC 2022 keynote begins at 17:00 UTC today, which you can watch on the company's website.

According to Joe Rossignol, a B&H employee has subsequently informed MacRumors these listings are guesses. Writing on Twitter, Rossignol explains that B&H created these listings 'prior to the last Apple Event in March'. Ultimately, it remains to be seen why B&H would list devices that it has no intention of selling. Potentially, the company could be preparing for what may launch later today and has fleshed them out based on current rumours. Either way, Apple M2-based hardware may offer only a minor performance boost over Apple M1, as we discussed separately
