Apple M2 MacBook Air appears in leakers' lists alongside macOS 13 Mammoth and iOS 16 for WWDC22 reveal expectations
Apple WWDC22 kicks off soon (June 6-10) and there is already plenty of buzz about the upcoming event. There have been quite a few rumors about what may appear at the conference, with the Apple MacBook Air 2022 model being one of the main hardware contenders. It might even come with M2 Apple silicon inside it, although possibly not in the chip-generational form that may have been previously expected. A couple of leakers have offered up lists of what could or should turn up at WWDC22, with a redesigned MacBook Air offered in multiple colors unsurprisingly appearing in both lists.
Both LeaksApplePro and Konovalov Konstantin (with help from Volodymyr) agree that macOS 13 will be front and center, as it should be at such a show. It’s believed the name for the operating system will be “Mammoth”, as it will not go by its internal codename of “Rome”. This is expected to be joined by important software updates such as iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, and both sources also believe there will be time to reveal WatchOS 9, Apple Music Classic/Classical, and tvOS 16. “AirPods firmware” could be included, and LeaksApplePro has offered up some wild card releases in the forms of a new Mac Pro, iPadOS pro apps, RealityOS, and the previously rumored M2-powered Mac mini.
Talking about “cards”, Apple has produced a set of AR trading cards for iPhone and iPad users to acquire while checking out the details for WWDC22. Parker Ortolani has kindly extracted all of the colorful cards for download; however, it seems the cards have offered up some emoji-string clues of what else can be expected to be unveiled at Apple’s event. As well as the above-mentioned, these possibly include updated privacy features and Xcode 14 (software development), with undoubtedly plenty of space for talk about virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) products and software.
