Rumor | The iQOO 10 Pro will launch with the fastest charging tech available to Android smartphones
iQOO is a smartphone brand so ostensibly obsessed with having a name for speed it has partnered with BMW Motorsport to market the last few generations of its premium devices. In addition, it is one of the very few companies that matches Xiaomi by offering 120W charging in the same high-end phones. Now, it might exceed this limit once again in the successor for its current 9 Pro flagship.
The brand originated as a spin-off from another brand, Vivo - which has recently become connected to the launch of the first 200W power brick specifically for smartphones. The leaker Digital Chat Station asserts that it plans to ship this accessory with an upcoming release.
Now, the tipster is back on this subject, purporting to identify the first device to be graced with this upgrade: the iQOO 10 Pro. Judging by the brand's typical product cycle, this phone is most likely to launch with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ iterative refresh processor rather than the truly next-gen Gen 2 SoC.
Nevertheless, this still makes for a potentially blazing-fast mid-year update - especially if it is also really compatible with a 20V/10A power adapter, now apparently known by the model number V200100L0B0-CN within Vivo's facilities. It is possible that the "10 Pro" itself might only manage 160W, although this could still leave it as the world's fastest-charging Android smartphone on its launch.
Finally, Digital Chat Station hints at a new peak wireless charging output of 65W (as in, 20V/3.25A) in the iQOO 10 Pro, although a maximum of 50W most of the time is much more likely in these terms.
