iQOO 7: new leaks point to Monster Beat speakers and a BMW-themed special edition
The iQOO 7 is a pre-launch phone that might have been last seen flying past the Mate 40 Pro on AnTuTu, despite the Huawei phone's place at the top of this benchmark's official rankings. It has also equalled the Mi 11 on Geekbench, indicating that both devices run the Snapdragon 888 processor.
Now, its maker claims it will have the audio to match its performance. Its speaker system is apparently tuned by Monster, a company associated with Beats by Dr. Dre in that brand's pre-Apple heyday. This collaboration has resulted in "High-Res Audio", as well as a "Hi-Fi" chip that restricts the phone's total harmonic distortion and noise (THD+N) to under 0.0003% and brings its dynamic range to more than 120 decibels (dB).
An eagle-eyed iQOO fan might also have spotted the brand reiterating its "BMW M Motorsport Premium Partner" status in the same new teaser. This agreement resulted in the Track and Legendary Editions of the 7's predecessor in 2020, premium and unique rear panels included.
Therefore, this new flagship might be in line for the same. Other leaks hint at a 120W power brick and the "Minion-cam" look popularized by the Vivo X50 series for this phone. These tips will be confirmed at the iQOO 7's launch, scheduled for January 11, 2021.
