A leaker called @Gadgetsdata on Twitter claims that iQOO is planning to launch a "flagship" in the third or fourth week of March 2021 in India. This phone might be the new, AnTuTu-mashing 7, and is now slated to lead 2 additional phones into this new market. One of them could be the rumored Snapdragon 870-toting Neo5.

iQOO is a brand of the smartphone OEM Vivo that has developed a solid reputation of selling devices with premium specs at good prices. They are also often marketed with a speed- or performance-focused theme, as with the iQOO 3 that launched as a cost-effective way to get at the Snapdragon 865 on the Indian market.

Now, the leaker Debayan Roy (or @Gadgetsdata) asserts that the brand is headed back to this country with a new “flagship” phone, to launch by the end of March 2021. The use of this term might hint at the iQOO 7, which recently beat the Xiaomi Mi 11 to the top of the first month’s-end AnTuTu chart of 2021.

Then again, its predecessors the 5 series, which also come with BMW-themed options and 120W fast charging, never launched in this country. It could also be one of the 2 new phones @Gadgetsdata claims will join the “flagship” in India by April 2021.

Another prime candidate for one of these is the Neo5, currently touted as a sub-premium contender due to its possible use of the new Snapdragon 870 and 8 to 12GB of RAM. At its rumored ~US$465 starting price in China, it might also make an exciting prospect in India later this year.
