The iQOO Z3 might be a phone that launches with the new Dimensity 1200 processor
MediaTek has launched a 2021 flagship mobile processor called the Dimensity 1200; however, the silicon has yet to feature in a new phone thus far. According to new rumors, iQOO could change that with the Z3. It is now touted to launch with this spec in late March.
As a brief reminder, the Z1 launched at a competitive price in May 2020, exhibiting many of the flagship Neo3's best attributes yet toting the Dimensity 1000+ instead of the Snapdragon 865. Therefore, it is possible that its putative next generation - which has allegedly cleared 3C testing as the Vivo V2073A for its 55W charging rate - could improve on or at least equal potential advantages such as a 48MP main camera, up to 12GB of RAM and a One Piece-themed special edition.
The Z1 also has a 6.57-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 144Hz - still the second-fastest in the industry even in 2021. The upcoming Neo5, on the other hand, is to get one of 120Hz...which is still pretty good, especially when paired with a 1000Hz touch-sampling rate. iQOO has revealed these specs in its latest teaser for the phone, in a poster that also confirms its HDR10+ support, high 1,300-nit brightness and 6,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Vivo's premium sub-brand has also confirmed that its next Android phone will run on the Snapdragon 870 and have up to 12GB of RAM. The latter will apparently benefit from its OEM's Memory Boost technology, by which the module 'behaves' like one of 15GB in total.
