Next week (March 22-28, 2021) is shaping up to be a good one for Android launch events. March 23 is slated to see the debut of the long-awaited OnePlus 9 series, not to mention that of the Black Shark 4, whereas Realme's "camera flagship", the 8 Pro, will be introduced the following day. Now, iQOO has confirmed that it will unleash the Z3 the day after that in turn (March 25).
If its apparent predecessor is anything to go by, the upcoming phone might offer premium features at a good price. It is already projected to come with 55W charging technology. Then again, the Z1 came with a higher-end Dimensity 1000+ processor, whereas the Z3 is projected to go much more mid-range.
This phone was originally tipped to run on MediaTek's new flagship, the Dimensity 1200; however, a device which what might be the Z3's model number (vivo V2073A) has shown up on Geekbench 5 with the "lito" platform, which indicates a Snapdragon 765G or possibly 768G instead. Other leaks point to an FHD+ display, 6GB of RAM and Android 11 for the same phone.
Therefore, should all this really add up to the iQOO Z3, it seems its maker has decided to go a very different way with this series in 2021 - particularly as it already has a Snapdragon 765G-powered phone, the Z1x, on the market already.
On the other hand, the changes might result in a very good starting price. On that note, the brand is also now linked to another new phone, the U3x, powered by the low-end-yet-still-5G Snapdragon 480 chipset.
