Reviews for the Vivo iQOO 9 Pro

Vivo IQOO 9 Pro Display test
Source: DxOMark English
In our testing, the Vivo IQOO 9 Pro display’s ideal use was in indoor conditions where it provided good color rendering. But once outdoors and in low light conditions, the screen experience changed, with readability becoming difficult and uncomfortable, a considerable drawback for a mobile device. Positioned as a gaming phone, however, a high refresh rate provided a smooth gaming and web browsing experience. The device’s smoothness also was evident when watching videos because of the very few frame drops. With a name that stands for “I Quest On and On,” the IQOO 9 Pro, which sits at the upper end of our Premium segment, did make point gains in its display performance over a previous model we tested from this series, the IQOO 7 Legend, a High-end device, which remains in the middle of that category.

85% iQOO 9 Pro review: A serious alternative to the Galaxy S22
Source: Android Police English
Yes, if you want a high-end phone that’s a bit cheaper and a bit more distinct than the usual Samsungs, Xiaomis, and Apples of the world. There are just a few compromises you’ll have to make, including fewer system updates, no IP certification, and slightly worse camera performance. The biggest caveat isn’t on the phone itself, though: The iQOO 9 Pro sadly isn’t officially available in many places around the world, with it just being launched in India this month following its China debut in January. You can still always import it after checking compatibility with your carrier, but that’s a route many people aren’t willing to go. Still, iQOO is starting to expand internationally, and it’s definitely one of the up and coming manufacturers to look out for.

Vivo iQOO 9 Pro Audio test
Source: DxOMark English
The Vivo iQ00 9 Pro is aimed at gamers, with gameplay sensors built into the frame and a vapor-cooling chamber. It has two speakers, one at the top front and one bottom side. Its global score of 67 is just a slight improvement over the last device we tested in the same line, the iQ00 7 Legend, which earned a 66. As a playback device, the iQ009 lacks low-end and bass and does not sound very good at maximum volume, with a lot of artifacts among other problems. It works best when listening to podcasts or other vocal content at lower volumes. Spatial performance is a high point — with localizability that is a plus for gamers. As a recording device, the Vivo smartphone is functional but its timbre lacks bass as well as high-end and is overall not pleasing to the ear. It does a good job when using the memo app. It doesn’t work as well when recording in loud environments.

70% iQoo 9 Pro smartphone review: High on style
Source: Gadgets Now English
The IQoo 9 Pro is a powerful flagship phone, featuring high-end specs. It is slightly heavy to hold at first but you can get used to the weight. The curved edges of the display look appealing on the device. The camera, both the rear and the front, are particularly good on the device, with the snaps coming out clear, sharp and natural during both day and night; the low-light shots also come out to be clear for the most part, without any grain and smudginess. Gaming is quite fluid on this phone but when it comes to playing high-end games on ultra game settings, it is not at the level of the premium gaming smartphones in the market today. The battery life is long and the audio on the dual stereo speakers is plain amazing on the device. If you are looking for a good Android camera phone with a competent display and long battery life in the premium segment, a phone that also looks different from the rest (speaking of the Legend variant), the IQoo 9 Pro can work for you.

iQOO 9 Pro Review – Best Flagship Phone You Can Buy Right Now
Source: Cashify English
iQOO has practically gone completely out with the iQOO 9 Pro to announce its entry into the premium smartphone market. Yes, it is a little pricey smartphone, with a starting price of Rs 64,990, but is it overpriced? No, I don’t believe so. With its stunning looks, the iQOO 9 Pro grabs your eye and steals your heart with its lightning-fast performance and awesome camera system. When you add in the 120W fast charging, you’ve got yourself a monster of a smartphone. There are a few flaws: it lacks an IP rating, HDR playback isn’t available on some OTT apps, and it has some bloatware. However, if you can’t wait to get your hands on your next gaming smartphone, the iQOO 9 Pro isn’t a bad option. However, given that it is a relatively new brand in India, investing nearly Rs. 70,000 may cause many to rethink the long-term effects. In such instances, you can choose the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Apple iPhone 13, or the upcoming flagships, the OnePlus 10 Pro or Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra.

80% iQOO 9 Pro Review: The best looking gaming smartphone of 2022
Source: Android Headlines English
If you want a high-end Android smartphone that is unique from what you can get from Google, Samsung, and Xiaomi, then yes, get the iQOO 9 Pro. If you are looking for an elegant looking gaming smartphone, then also the iQOO 9 Pro is an easy choice. You get elegant hardware, fluid software, good thermal management, decent camera performance, and ultra-fast wired and wireless charging. Battery life is quite good and the audio quality, whilst not great, is quite decent. There are however a few downsides. Namely, no IP rating and few to no system updates. Of course, the biggest downside is availability, as I am not sure if this device is available widely outside of China or India.

The Vivo iQOO 9 Pro smartphone was launched as a gaming phone, but along with the perfect gameplay, awesome design, ideal camera, and huge battery make it a next-level flagship phone. Anyone who can afford must invest in iQOO9 Pro as it is futuristic and appropriate for day-to-day use. Although there are a few cons like no IP rating it can be ignored in front of the premium features. Correspondingly, the software issues can be overcome with future software updates. So, make the final choice according to your desire and needs. In case you are looking for an alternative option you can definitely check the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone.

86% iQOO 9 Pro Review: The First Great Phone of 2022
Source: Tech PP English
Its price of Rs 64,990 for 8 GB/ 256 GB and Rs 69,990 for 12 GB/ 256 GB puts it right on top of the “no compromises” Android flagship list. It comfortably beats the likes of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which comes with a similar processor at Rs 49,999 but loses out on features like display, camera, and charging. In fact, its biggest challengers could well be the Samsung Galaxy S22 which starts at Rs 72,999, the iPhone 13 which starts at Rs 79,999 (we do not think the iPhone 13 mini at Rs 69,999 is a contender, given its form factor), and perhaps the forthcoming OnePlus 10 Pro. If that does not tell you something about the iQOO 9 Pro, nothing will. The device is already a contender of the Phone of the Year in our books, even though it is only March. Yeah, THAT good. We have just seen the first great phone of 2022.

iQOO 9 BMW M Motorsport Edition Review
Source: Mobygyaan English
The iQOO 9 BMW M Motorsport Edition packs a powerful package, the Snapdragon 888+ performs superior paired with 12 GB RAM + 4 GB extended RAM, delivers a flagship-level performance, and offers a great 120 Hz smooth 10-bit Super AMOLED display, it’s bright and crisp, offers 1B colors and is very responsive. On the design front, the iQOO 9 BMW M Motorsport Edition has the iconic BMW tricolor strip, the matte finish look, refined frosted glass back, feels solid in the hands, the design is certainly impressive. Aside from these, the Gimbal camera system is cleverly set up for stabilization, the cameras offer a bunch of features and perform well. The overall camera performance is impressive and reliable. Fast charging is the key feature of the iQOO 9 BMW M Motorsport Edition, you get a whopping 120W FlashCharge fast charging which is capable of charging the battery from 0% to 50% in about 6 minutes. You also get Dual Monster Touch Sensors, dual stereo speakers, some useful FunTouch OS 12 features, and more. The only downside we can see is the phone isn’t waterproof, no IP rating is available.

80% Vivo iQoo 9 Pro Legend review
Source: Tech Advisor English
There is a lot to love about the Vivo iQoo 9 Pro Legend, with a flagship chip, decent gaming performance, enviable rear camera, bold design and one of the fastest charging speeds seen on the market right now. It does get quite hot when used strenuously, and the lack of IP rating may be a worry for some. This is also a device for more casual gamers, as others may find the lack of triggers and extra buttons an annoyance. Finally, the lack of availability in the West is a disappointment. However, if you are willing to import this device (or you live in India or China), then this is a brilliant phone for both gaming and everyday performance.

90% iQoo 9 Pro Review: A Ginormous Leap Forward
Source: NDTV Gadgets English
The iQoo 9 Pro fixes the iQoo 7 Legend's main problem – poor battery life – and adds plenty more features, which justifies its higher price. My biggest gripe is the lack of an IP68 rating, which is commonly found in smartphones in this segment. Software is up-to-date and gaming performance is not a problem. Still camera performance is good and the same goes for video recording, although low-light videos could have been better. The 120W charging speed is the icing on the cake and there's also wireless charging. At a starting price of Rs. 64,990, the iQoo 9 Pro competes directly with the OnePlus 9 Pro (Review). When compared side by side, it's clear that the iQoo 9 Pro offers better features with the latest Qualcomm silicon, faster charging, and a gimbal-stabilised primary camera. What the iQoo 9 lacks is an official IP rating which sticks out as a sore point. There's also the recently announced Samsung Galaxy S22 which starts at Rs. 72,999. The Apple iPhone 12 (Review) is also still a solid premium smartphone, even though it's a year old.

80% iQOO 9 Pro Review: The unchallenged winner
Source: The Times of India English
iQOO’s revamped high-end smartphone lineup has pushed the brand to compete with the very best in the business. In the world of Apples and Galaxys, the iQOO 9 Pro carves its space well. It caters to those who seek all the luxuries of a 2022 flagship but without sacrificing any performance. And that’s where the iQOO 9 Pro shines – its performance. If you are into mobile gaming, or doing video editing on your phone, the iQOO 9 Pro offers a brilliant combination of a very capable chip, a nicely calibrated display, and a decent audio experience. Couple that with the 120W fast charging, and you have got a powerhouse of a smartphone. Photographers tired of iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S devices can also consider this for a change. This is a brilliant camera system that never fails to impress most people with its vibrant and detailed photos across all situations. Those seeking accurate colours should stick to the iPhone and Samsung devices. Sadly, iQOO disappoints in terms of its software experience.

iQOO 9 Pro Review: The phone with the best video stabilization and fingerprint scanner
Source: XDA Developers English
The iQOO 9 Pro’s ₹64,990 price tag (which converts to $870) seems reasonable, considering this is a device with top-tier components almost everywhere except in the ultra-wide and zoom lenses. The main camera is among one of the best in the market, with some of the best video capabilities around too. While I think the Vivo X70 Pro Plus still has a better all-around camera system, the iQOO 9 Pro has a better in-display scanner, superior LTPO panel, larger battery, and faster charging too.

70% iQOO 9 Pro review: a valiant effort
Source: 91mobiles English
The iQOO 9 Pro starts at Rs 64,990 for the 8GB RAM variant and for the price, gets a couple of things right. For one, the device offers a stunning design that has been mated to an equally captivating display. What’s more, the handset is a gamer’s delight and performs admirably too. That said, it’s hard to turn a blind eye to the smartphone’s shortcomings, given its steep pricing. To wit, the device cannot relay HDR media from OTT services like Netflix. Furthermore, the handset doesn’t come with any IP rating either, which is a bummer. Lest I forget, the iQOO 9 Pro’s main camera, while good, could do with some tweaks as well. Provided you can live with the drawbacks – and there aren’t many, to begin with – the iQOO 9 Pro will serve you well over the years. However, if you want the most bang for your bucks, I’d suggest you sit on your hands for a bit as there will be a slurry of high-end phones hitting the shelves soon.

90% iQOO 9 Pro review: Great flagship phone, but is that enough?
Source: The Indian Express English
The iQOO 9 Pro is a solid phone for the price and a true flagship from its design and camera to the sheer performance on offer. If you’re looking for a phone that offers the raw performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under under Rs 70,000, along with an excellent screen, great cameras, and gorgeous looks, the iQOO 9 Pro is a solid choice. However, if you were looking for something a little more affordable with largely the same experience in terms of gameplay and raw performance you may want to have a look at the vanilla iQOO 9 instead, which starts at Rs 42,990.

80% Vivo iQOO 9 Pro BMW M Motorsport Edition Review: Excellent But Forgettable
Source: Slashgear English
Unfortunately, this particular special edition's selling point is its BMW M Motorsport branding, which is unique yet also easily forgettable. The regular iQOO 9 Pro with a vegan leather back might have more character, but even then, a special rear design can only get you so far. There will be many other phones with nearly the same specs and even better cameras that will easily outshine the iQOO 9 Pro BMW M Motorsport Edition, and those can simply slap on a case or a skin to show their love for the BMW brand.

Source: GSM Arena English
The iQOO 9 Pro is brilliant smartphone with top-of-the-line features across the board, attractive design, and adequate pricing for the flagship class. Sure, it's expensive, but it can justify its price tag with plenty of cool stuff like gimbal stabilization, LTPO 2.0 E5 AMOLED, 120W fast charging, 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader, and even the BMW Motorsport branding, if you will. Still, there is nothing really wrong with the iQOO 9 Pro; just on the contrary. It's not only a true flagship, waterproofed or not, it's also a device with some truly great potential. It is unique, it is one of the fastest phones in the world in terms of screen, performance and charging, and it offers an almost flawless camera experience. We are sure its first price cut will do it a massive favor, but even as it is - the iQOO 9 Pro deserves to be on your shortlist for when you are next considering getting an Android flagship.

Qualcomm Adreno 730: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 30% faster than the Adreno 660 in the Snapdragon 888 SoC. For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in late 2021.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.

SD 8 Gen 1: High-end SoC for smartphones that was introduced in late 2021 and manufactured in 4 nm at Samsung. Integrates one “Prime Core” based on a ARM Cortex-X2 architecture clocked at up to 3 GHz. Three more performance cores are based on the A710 but clock up to 2.5 GHz. Furthermore, four energy saving cores are integrated that are based on the ARM Cortex-A510 architecture and clock at up to 1.8 GHz. In addition to the processor cores, the SoC integrates a WiFi 6e modem, a Hexagon DSP (for AI acceleration) and a Spectra ISP. The integrated memory controller supports fast LPDDR5 memory with up to 3,200 MHz. 5G is now included in the chip with the Snapdragon X65 modem.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
