Reviews for the Xiaomi Poco F4 GT
Pop-up triggers and an extensive cooling solution place the Poco F4 GT firmly in the gaming phone category. With a 120-Hz AMOLED panel, a Snapdragon Gen 1, and a quad audio system, it looks promising - and not just for gamers.

Although the Poco F4 GT offers features aimed specifically at gamers, this should not put off potential buyers seeking a powerful, solidly built and relatively affordable phone. Indeed, these features can enhance usability for everyone. In addition, battery life is good, and the 120W fast charging really impresses. However, if you require MicroSD card expansion, bloatware is an issue or high-quality cameras are needed, this might not be the phone for you.

The POCO F4 GT is a gamer’s phone through and through as we found out in our review of it for the Philippines, and anyone looking for a high-performance phone to play Genshin Impact or any other game will be happy with the POCO F4 GT. While it doesn’t have as much accessory support as say, ASUS’ ROG Phone series of phones, it works relatively well as a gaming device.

There are a fair amount of alternatives to the Poco F4 GT out there, starting with its predecessor. The Poco F3 GT (Rs 28,999 in India) might lack a full-blown flagship chipset and 120W charging, but we still thought the Dimensity 1200 chipset delivered a good level of performance, while 67W charging was plenty fast anyway. The addition of those shoulder triggers, a slick screen, and a much cheaper price tag only sweetens the deal. Those looking for a gaming-focused phone should also consider the Red Magic 7 series (€799). Both phones are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as well as a cooling fan for better sustained performance, and this fan makes a difference in our own testing. You’re also getting a large battery, a 3.5mm port, and fast charging with the Red Magic, but those hoping for wireless charging, great cameras, an IP rating, and a similar price should look elsewhere. Another solid alternative is the Google Pixel 6 (€649) You’re not getting shoulder triggers or super-fast charging though, but great camera quality, water resistance, and wireless charging all help deliver a well-rounded experience.

POCO F4 GT is an incredibly powerful phone with a bunch of gaming tricks up its sleeve. Besides, it also has a subtle design, a great display, quad speakers, and 120W fast charging. Yes—the F4 GT doesn't bring the best cameras or guaranteed software updates—but for those looking for a capable, no-nonsense gaming phone, this is an easy recommendation.

Anyone searching for a game-friendly phone that’s a little more subtle than the usual RGB-infused fare should absolutely consider the Poco F4 GT. It’s fast and has a great screen, and those pop-up triggers really do make all the difference when playing. It does lose out on a few features we’d expect from a gaming phone, like a headphone jack and expandable storage. Battery life is also firmly in the mid-tier. The camera is decent enough at this price, though you don’t have to spend much more to get a more versatile set of lenses, and better quality overall. Still, given it manages to undercut other affordable flagships, especially for anyone that manages to bag one during Poco’s early-bird sales offer. It’s still a nifty alternative choice for those on a reasonable budget that also like to get their game on every now and then.

Gaming chops in grown-up-friendly attire feels like an odd crossover, but that's the vibe we're getting from the Poco F4 GT. The latest Snapdragon joins a pair of snappy-clicky shoulder triggers so that the handset can stand its ground against the ROGs of the world, and the consumption side is similarly well taken care of by a great display and big-sounding speakers. Battery life may be middle of the road and the camera system is hardly impressive , but neither is strictly bad so as to be a dealbreaker, and it's not like rivals set a particularly high bar in either respect. We're even willing to forgive some odd branding on the back of the phone - we're easily distracted by RGB LEDs. Phones that's place a higher priority on picturetaking have gotten away with limited zooming capability too. And it's not like rivals set a particularly high bar in either respect. 'Apex of power' might be a bit of grandstanding, but marketing likes big words. Looking past them, there's a phone well worth considering.

POCO disrupted the Android smartphone market when it released the POCO F1. The F-series smartphones from POCO offer pro-grade specs, premium build, decent camera, and much more at a not-so-steep price. The company has now introduced the fourth generation F-series smartphone, the POCO F4 GT, with the aim of swooping the mid-range Android market once again. Read along and learn everything about the new POCO F4 GT.

The POCO smartphone series has always been a game-changer and the POCO F4 GT brings that up a notch with its flagship-level hardware but at a mid-range price point. This is the most affordable gaming smartphone running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and with the 12GB of onboard RAM (+3GB Memory Extension), it’s hard to ignore what this phone is capable of and put all other flagship phones that are already in the market on notice. Solid construction with aluminum and glass materials. Check. Superfast wired charging. Check. Great audio quality. Check. Processor and memory. Check! It’s not perfect and if we want to nitpick, we’d say the cameras can be better, a microSD card slot would have been nice, or the absence of an IP67 rating and 3.5mm audio port could have made it more appealing. But such is life and we can’t have it all. But for something priced starting at under PHP 28K, there isn’t really anything else holding us back from recommending this phone.

Qualcomm Adreno 730: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is integrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 30% faster than the Adreno 660 in the Snapdragon 888 SoC. For Android it should be one of the fastest graphics cards in late 2021.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

Xiaomi:
Xiaomi Tech was founded as a Chinese smartphone producer in 2010 and soon reached high market shares in its home market. Although Xiaomi is not one of the Top 5 smartphone manufacturers worldwide in 2016, it is nevertheless one of the big global players in this market segment.
Since 2015 there are many reviews. The ratings have been above average since 2016.
81.6%: This rating should be considered to be average. This is because the proportion of notebooks which have a higher rating is approximately equal to the proportion which have a lower rating.
