Honor Watch GS 3: 46 mm smartwatch launched from £189.99 in three styles
Honor has finally brought the Watch GS 3 to the UK, having revealed the smartwatch in January in China. To recap, the Watch GS 3 is only available as a 45.9 mm smartwatch, which is also 10.5 mm at its thinnest point. For reference, Honor claims that the Watch GS 3 is suitable for 140-210 mm wide wrists and that it weighs approximately 44 g without a strap.
Also, the Watch GS 3 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display that resolves at 466 x 466 pixels with a 326 PPI pixel density. Incidentally, Honor has included two physical buttons, although the large display supports touchscreen gestures. For some reason, the Watch GS 3 does not support iOS out of the box. However, Honor promises that an OTA update will be available; it is unclear how the smartwatch will download the update without being paired to an Android device first, though.
Regardless, the Watch GS 3 has 5 ATM water resistance, supports GPS and has a new eight-channel Photoplethysmography (PPG) heart-rate sensor, among other features. Purportedly, the PPG sensor combines with Honor's AI Heart Rate Monitoring Engine to deliver precise heart rate monitoring functionality. Additionally, the Watch GS 3 comes with over 100 workout modes that interact with the smartwatch's GPS module.
The Honor Watch GS 3 will be orderable in the UK from May 13, starting at £189.99 for the Midnight Black version. In comparison, the Classic Gold and Ocean Blue colourways will retail for £209.99. Honor states that the Midnight Black version will only be available on its eCommerce platform, whereas third-party retailers will sell Classic Gold and Ocean Blue, such as Amazon
