New Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 leak reveals possibility of launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 model variants
Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Z devices are likely a few months away from being released. Nonetheless, plenty of information has already surfaced online about the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Galaxy Z Fold6, such as the colour and memory options. Additionally, the former was recently seen on Geekbench under the model number SM-F741U, full details of which we have provided separately.
In short, the SM-F741U appeared to rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, a chipset that also powers the Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon), as well as the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in some markets. However, a new listing throws that assumption up in the air. As the screenshot below shows, another SM-F741 has turned up sporting 'ARM implementer 65 architecture 8 variant 1 part 3406 revision 0', an identifier for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Ultimately, we would recommend taking this benchmark leak with some caution at this stage until more information emerges. The listing reveals that the handset has been paired with 12 GB of RAM too, unlike equivalent listings for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy variant. Nonetheless, we would not rule out Samsung testing multiple model variants, given that it is one of the only Android OEMs to sell the same device with different chipsets.
