One UI 6.1: Samsung begins distributing new update to Galaxy S21, Galaxy S22, Galaxy Tab S8 and older Galaxy Z devices
Samsung has kicked off May by delivering upon its promise of expanding its One UI 6.1 rollout to more devices. Having debuted on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) in January, Samsung then brought the same update to Galaxy S23, Galaxy Tab S9 and fifth-generation Galaxy Z devices, which all started receiving One UI 6.1 towards the end of March.
Subsequently, the company confirmed that it would also bring One UI 6.1 to flagships it released in 2021, such as the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy Z Flip3. Allegedly, 8.8 million users have downloaded and upgraded their devices to One UI 6.1, with an ambitious 100 million upgrades targeted by the end of this year. Samsung adds that almost 80% of Galaxy S23 Ultra owners have already upgraded to One UI 6.1 in Europe, although this number drops to 75% for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and 65% for the Galaxy Tab S9.
Moreover, the company claims that Circle to Search, Chat Assistant, Live Transcription and Live Translation are the most features in its Galaxy AI software stack. In a German press release, Samsung states that the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Tab S8 series should start seeing One UI 6.1 upgrades later this month, as should the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4. However, various sources have noticed that One UI 6.1 builds have now landed for its 2021 and 2022 flagships in South Korea. Thus, we would not be surprised if Samsung delivers One UI 6.1 to the following devices globally within the next few days:

- Galaxy S21 Ultra
- Galaxy S22
- Galaxy S22 Plus
