Deal | Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra deal brings price down to $649.99 in massive 40% Best Buy discount

Samsung touted its Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra as a laptop replacement and charged laptop prices for the 14.6-inch Android tablet. While it is certainly a premium device, many fans baulked at the idea of paying so much for a device that is still limited by the Android operating system. Fortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is on sale at Best Buy for $649.99 — a whole $450 less than its usual $1,099.99 retail price. 

Granted, the Tab S8 Ultra has been replaced by the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, but the S9 Ultra's minor updates combined with Samsung's four-year software support promise make the Tab S8 a competitive tablet — especially at the current sale price. 

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 onboard the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra proves sufficient in most scenarios, and even holds up relatively well against the much newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy found in the Tab S9 Ultra.

Specs-wise, Best Buy is only offering the entry-level Tab S8 Ultra with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for $649.99, although the Tab S8 Ultra does have a microSD card slot for expandable storage up to 1 TB. In our review of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, we were impressed by the large, fast, and bright Super AMOLED display and Samsung's DeX desktop mode. 

That 120 Hz Super AMOLED display is capable of a respectable 600 cd/m² in our testing, with a maximum measured HDR brightness of 795 cd/m². For anyone doing office work, media consumption, or digital art on the go, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra should be a solid contender. What's more, unlike Apple's comparable iPad Pro 13, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra comes with Samsung's pressure-sensitive S Pen — powered by Wacom's legendary EMR tech — in the box.

For reference, this Best Buy deal makes the 14.9-inch Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra around $300 cheaper than the entry-level Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra (which is also moderately discounted at Best Buy) and only $50 more than the MSRP of the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+.
