Ace 3 Pro: OnePlus rumoured to be bringing 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage option to future Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered smartphone
OnePlus has released two Ace smartphones this year, with January's Ace 3 recently followed by the Ace 3V. However, there have been plenty of rumours that OnePlus also plans to deliver an Ace 2 Pro successor. For reference, although OnePlus sells the Ace 3 globally as the OnePlus 12R (curr. $529.99 on Amazon), it has not introduced the Ace 3V outside China yet.
Previously, the Ace 3 Pro has been alleged to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Likewise, there have been suggestions that the device could be a redesigned flagship of sorts courtesy of a 1.5K display. Now, the Weibo leaker 'Smart Pikachu' has provided more insights into what OnePlus could have in store for its Ace 2 Pro-follow-up. Reportedly, OnePlus plans to deliver the Ace 3 Pro with up to 1 TB of storage and 16 GB of RAM.
While matching the Ace 3 on RAM and storage, these amounts would mean that the Ace 3 Pro has 8 GB of RAM less than its predecessor's peak RAM configuration. With that being said, there are few instances where 16 GB of RAM is needed on Android, let alone 24 GB. Moreover, the same Weibo leaker believes that the Ace 3 Pro will land with a new design too, as well as the Sony IMX890, which serves as the Ace 3's primary camera. A release date remains unknown for now, though.
