Samsung Galaxy S25 to arrive without a memory upgrade yet again
Unlike the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6, the Samsung Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are both expected to feature new camera hardware. That's welcome news but it appears Samsung is set to persist with one particular specification on the base Galaxy S25—memory.
According to leaker Ice Universe, the vanilla Galaxy S25 is set to arrive with just 8 GB of RAM. Presumably, that means the S25, like the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 before it, will be available with just 8 GB of RAM, regardless of storage configuration.
While there's a case to be made for 8 GB of RAM being adequate for most use cases, Samsung's rivals all provide more memory even on their base models: The OnePlus 12 (buy on Amazon) ships with 12 GB of RAM standard, the Xiaomi 14 can be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM, and the OPPO Find X7 is a hybrid of the two. Considering the Galaxy S25's expected price compared to the competition, 8 GB of RAM does appear lacking.
