Redmi Turbo 3 competitor iQOO Z9 Turbo gets its display details revealed

iQOO has officially announced the display details of its Redmi Turbo 3 competitor, the Z9 Turbo. According to the announcement, the upcoming affordable flagship will come equipped with a CSOT C8 display. This panel sports a 1.5K resolution, has a 144 Hz refresh rate, and boasts a local peak brightness rating of 4500 nits.

While the company didn’t confirm the exact size and screen resolution, the iQOO Z9 Turbo has the upper hand over the Turbo 3 regarding the refresh rate. To fill you in, Redmi’s first Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phone has a screen that features a 120 Hz refresh rate. Although the difference between 120 Hz and 144 Hz won’t be very noticeable, a little higher refresh rate will definitely make the phone feel a bit more snappier.

In addition, the company has revealed that the screen of the iQOO Z9 Turbo sports SGS low blue light and low flicker certification. It also offers three dimming modes to choose from. The first is low brightness 2160 Hz, while the second one bumps it up to 3840 Hz “ultra high frequency” PWM dimming. As for the third mode, it offers “full brightness DC dimming.”

Besides the display details, iQOO has also revealed some of the other key aspects of the phone through previous announcements. In case you missed them, the Z9 Turbo will pair the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 with a dedicated graphics chip. This combination promises to offer a smooth gaming experience “that exceeds the native frame rate.”

Moreover, the iQOO Z9 Turbo will equip a large VC liquid cooling system to ensure stable performance during load. It will also aim to offer a reliable battery life with a large 6000 mAh battery. The other aspect that’s confirmed so far is the thickness of the phone, which is 7.98 mm (8 mm thick POCO X6 curr. $271.28 on Amazon).
