Samsung releases Galaxy M55 in Europe with faster wired charging than Galaxy S24
The Galaxy M55 has reached European shores, having been presented late last month in Brazil. To recap, Samsung bases the Galaxy M55 around the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, a 4 nm chipset that Qualcomm introduced in mid-2022. Thus, the Galaxy M55 will be about as powerful as the Honor 90, Motorola Razr 40 and Xiaomi 13 Lite, all of which were released last year.
Additionally, Samsung equips the Galaxy M55 with an AMOLED display that outputs at 1080p and 120 Hz while spanning 6.7-inches across. Moreover, the Galaxy M55 find itself with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 45 W wired charging. Thus, the Galaxy M55 offers faster wired charging than the more expensive Galaxy S24 (curr. $724.99 on Amazon) albeit without wireless charging support.
Currently, the Galaxy M55 is available in Portugal and Switzerland, where it starts at €498.35 and CHF 391.35 (~€403.57), respectively, with 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. Please note that Portugal charges significantly more VAT than Switzerland, which may explain the price gap between the two countries. Alternatively, Samsung sells the Galaxy M55 with 256 GB of storage in Portugal for €548.35, also with 8 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Samsung will bring the Galaxy M55 to other markets, such as North America.
