Huawei P70 becomes Pura 70, teaser confirms triangular camera module
Huawei has published a teaser video (embedded below) on Chinese social network Weibo, along with a statement from CEO Richard Yu, according to which the Huawei P series will be officially rebranded. In future, the popular camera flagships will be marketed under the name "Pura".
According to the video, the Pura 70 series focuses primarily on five aspects, which Huawei calls "Passion", "Pure", "Style", "Creation" and "Classic". Four of these aspects could well refer to the camera, which may offer a "classic" user experience and "pure" results without generative AI elements. The name "Pura" is probably also derived from "Pure". The video suggests that the smartphone will be equipped with a triangular camera module that looks much more striking than on the Huawei P50 Pro.

This is confirmed by recently leaked photos showing the Huawei Pura 70 Pro with an artfully designed back and triple camera in a triangular module. Huawei is yet to confirm any further details about the launch date or features. According to earlier rumors and new information from leaker @Rodent950, the company is planning four models in the Pura 70 series, namely the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, Pura 70 Pro+ and Pura 70 Ultra.
In addition to a new HiSilicon Kirin 9000S and a 3000 nits bright AMOLED display, all four models will feature 88 watt fast charging via USB-C and wireless fast charging with 50 to 80 watts. According to rumors, the top model is equipped with a 50 MP main camera based on the Sony IMX989 in 1-inch format as well as a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto camera, with the latter being equipped with a Sony IMX858 in 1/2.55-inch format.
