Huawei touts GoPaint as a pro-grade new drawing app for touchscreen devices
The MatePad Pro 13.2 (currently available for €1,199 (~$1,285) on Amazon.de) is a high-end tablet with an OLED display rated to respond to over 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity when imparted by Huawei's own latest M Pencil 3, which works via the OEM's take on wireless connectivity, NearLink. Now, this tech has its equally in-house digital painting app.
Huawei now declares itself to be "the industry's first smart device vendor" with such an app (although Microsoft might have something to say about that?). GoPaint is touted to best complement and enhance the current creation abilities of devices such as the current flagship MatePad.
The app is touted to elevate drawing on such slates to a "professional" degree, with support for a wide range of virtual drawing and artist tools.
The OEM suggests that the "powerful" creator software should work flawlessly with Huawei hardware, as they are all first-party, after all.
The app is also slated to offer painting tutorials that might help the user to improve their art and/or techniques over time.
GoPaint has debuted today (April 29, 2024), but will not be available until the next Huawei Innovative Product Launch, an event scheduled for May 7 that may or may not introduce products such as the Matebook X 2024 and Watch Fit 3 to the international market.
